it is You

Writer : Annabelle Bok

Journeying.

Walking this road with You by my side, my constant companion, I should have nothing to fear, nothing to disturb my peace, to steal my joy.

But my very human heart forgets that You are there, forgets that You are my all in all.

And simple things like listening to old EPs can cause me to fall from the high road and into the ditches of melancholy.

It is so hard sometimes to remember that You are the Only One eternal and unchanging, and that all that isn't only about Your power and Your glory as we are so prone to thinking of it, but of Your tender mercies, Your amazing grace, and Your all-or-nothing love.

But I voyage in the Ark, after all. It is You Who put this life together, and You Who hold it together. You Who placed me in Christ, and You Who will take we through to journey's end.

Yes, my Father. It is You. It is Your voice that speaks to me out of the silence, telling me again of Your love for me that never fails, that never changes. Your voice that my spirit always recognises. Your voice that effortlessly speaks my language of love, so that I always am assured and comforted.

It is You. It was always You. And it will always be You.

Everything I ever loved was You
All I ever needed, Lord, was You
All that I desire, all I ever will adore
All along You were the One
And so much more...
It is You
