What You Wanted All Along
Writer : Annabelle Bok
It was never about the heavens The thundering cataclysms that demanded we Sit up and notice Your power
It was never about the oceans The living cataract over earth's deepest valleys Screaming the proof of Your might into Our beings
It was never about the wilderness Half of creation scattered across the great expanse That shouted Your dominion Into the vast silence of our souls
It was about the gentle patter of the night rain The soft caress of twilight's breathing The quiet sigh of the dew As it settled on the grass
It was about that silence that stilled me When all around was fretting fear and on impulse I Whispered Your Name
You never did ask me to follow You, now that I recall You just loved me until I saw You And You waited till I was ready to listen Before you asked And all You wanted me to do Was to let You love me more.
