melancholy

Writer : Annabelle Bok

Bright afternoon
Blue-white skies
Bracing breezes
But a bare soul stares blankly out the window

There is music playing
But she doesn't hear it
Somebody nearby
But she doesn't feel it

She is so alone

Where is that Presence
That can comfort her heart
Settle over her
Clouding her senses
Forcing her both inside and
High above
Where she can find that glow she seeks
Hear that voice she's forgotten how to hear

If only momentarily

Heartsick
Weary
Won't somebody save me?
