Hosanna? Hosanna
Writer : Matthew Crawshaw
Hosanna, n : a cry of praise or adoration (to God); save I pray thee; keep; preserve.
As I gaze out of the grilled windows of my flat Expectantly I ponder the workings of this created world, the reckonings of God Maybe it's all going to end, maybe, maybe, something Waits For the right time, till hell and its fury, then God and His glory come For What has to be taken and what has to be given, in magnanimity from and to Man Creature, and spirit. But who can guess when or what To See or believe, the Scriptures somewhat lacking clarity while we Turn The pages pointing and guessing, or throwing up our hands, decidedly looking Round At the world we know, as I do, through a window, hoping, knowing, assured.
Notes from the writer : 'Hosanna? Hosanna' starts off unassured and questioning, but ends with an affirmation of trust in God despite the ambiguity of His ways. The word 'created' is an especially important word, as it affirms God's will on this planet, that there is an essence at least of Him here. This is what allows the narrator, while unable to piece things together through Scripture, to see the world and be assured. The term 'taken and...given' is opposite to the usual 'give and take'. This is because at the very end, what is given is eternal life, and nothing really is taken.
